Ubisoft to shut down Rainbow Six Mobile less than a year after global launch

Ubisoft is shutting down Rainbow Six Mobile, a free-to-play tactical multiplayer shooter for phones.

The game is based on the Rainbow Six franchise and launched globally in February 2026, after years of development and earlier testing.

Ubisoft says the game will remain available until January 15, 2027, while another account gives January 16 as the shutdown date.

The company says the next season will still be released as planned.

The game received millions of downloads, but players criticized aspects including limited operator choices and a grind-heavy system for unlocking operators.

Its closure means players will have less than a year with the globally released game.

Ubisoft has not given a reason for the shutdown in the details provided.
