Matt Renshaw scores 190 to lift Australia against South Africa
Matt Renshaw scored 190 for Australia in the first Test against South Africa in Durban.
Batting at No.
5, he came in after Australia had lost four wickets and helped steady the innings.
The team then fell to 124 for 6, but Renshaw built partnerships with Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon.
It was his second Test century and his first in almost a decade.
Renshaw began his Test career as an opener in 2016, but was dropped after a poor run and later rebuilt his form in domestic cricket.
Australia have struggled to settle on opening batters, and Renshaw scored only eight runs in his sole innings against Bangladesh in August.
His Durban innings has strengthened his case for selection, but the batting order may change when Cameron Green returns from injury.
