Indigo Girls’ longtime tour bus driver killed in South Carolina crash

Indigo Girls’ longtime tour bus driver, identified by the band as Kirk, died in a crash in Richland County, South Carolina, on Friday morning.

The bus was traveling on Interstate 20 when it collided with a disabled tractor-trailer.

No band or crew members were aboard.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Indigo Girls said Kirk had helped keep them safe on the road and that they would miss him.

The band cancelled its Saturday night show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

It said it would announce in the coming days whether its upcoming concerts in Wilmington, North Carolina; Ponte Vedra, Florida; and Sugar Land, Texas would go ahead.

The band said the tour would resume when it was ready and able.
