Aria Vega earns first Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist

Aria Vega, a singer and songwriter from Barranquilla, Colombia, has received her first Latin Grammy nomination.

She is nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 awards.

Vega combines Afro-Caribbean rhythms with urban music in a style she calls “Costeñita Core.”

Her songs and performances draw on the language, humor and dance of Colombia’s Caribbean coast.

She says her mother, grandmother, Joe Arroyo and Shakira have inspired her.

The nomination recognizes her work as she performs in Spain, France and the United States.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 12 in Las Vegas, and her US tour is due to continue in Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston.
