Journey drummer Deen Castronovo hospitalized after Tulsa concert emergency

Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was taken to hospital after becoming unwell during the band’s concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Thursday.

He was helped off stage after the group had played two songs.

The band paused the show while guitarist Neal Schon told the audience that Castronovo was going to hospital.

Journey then resumed with longtime drum tech Steve Toomey taking over.

Singer Arnel Pineda and Schon told fans they thought Castronovo would be fine, but no details about his condition have been released.

Castronovo, 62, first joined Journey in 1998, left in 2015 and returned in 2021.

Journey’s next concert is scheduled for Saturday, though it has not been confirmed whether Castronovo will perform.
