Ben Affleck Reworked ‘Animals’ to Give Its Characters More Nuance

‘Animals’ is a thriller about a couple whose son is kidnapped.

Ben Affleck originally planned to direct the film with Matt Damon and Jennifer Garner in the lead roles, but later starred in it himself.

He rewrote the story to make its characters and their choices less predictable.
