Rwanda’s president to attend Russia-Africa summit in Moscow

Rwanda’s president is expected to attend the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow on October 28-29.

Rwanda’s ambassador to Russia said the two countries intend to sign an agreement establishing their first socioeconomic and political commission.

The planned commission is meant to support cooperation between Rwanda and Russia.

Rwanda also wants to extend economic links to Russia’s North Caucasus region.

Its ambassador invited companies there to invest in Rwanda and said the country is interested in mineral fertilizers.

He said building fertilizer industries in Rwanda could be more cost-effective for companies than simply supplying fertilizers.

The summit is the next planned opportunity for the countries to discuss these goals.
