RN spokesperson backs student protests but says vandals should pay for damage

Andréa Kotarac, a spokesperson for France’s National Rally party, said he supports the student movement and understands young people’s anger.

He also said people who damage or burn property should pay for the harm they cause.

He argued taxpayers and insurance customers should not have to cover those costs.

His comments come as students plan another day of protests.
