Sammy Hagar Turns 79 at Cabo Birthday Bash and Plans a Bigger 80th
Sammy Hagar is celebrating his 79th birthday with a three-night Birthday Bash at Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The shows are scheduled for October 9, 11 and 13, and feature a band that includes members of his Waboritas and other longtime collaborators.
About 100,000 people requested roughly 1,600 tickets for this year’s three shows, Hagar says.
The event is known for spontaneous performances, with Hagar and guests choosing songs they can play together on the spot.
He hopes his 80th birthday bash can welcome far more fans next year, possibly through several nights of shows or a large stadium event.
He has not decided where or how to hold it, but says making the celebration accessible to everyone who wants to attend is his dream.
