Bathurst council invites bids for a fifth Mount Panorama event
Bathurst Regional Council is inviting motorsport promoters to propose a fifth annual event at Mount Panorama.
The council is offering a five-year deal and wants proposals to explain how the event would run, when it would take place and how it would benefit Bathurst.
SRO Motorsports Australia is expected to seek an extension of its current arrangement to host the Shannons SpeedSeries at the circuit in 2027.
That arrangement is a stop-gap deal, and SRO is not guaranteed to keep the event.
The council says a new event must bring its own identity, attract spectators and deliver economic and commercial benefits for the city.
It says Mount Panorama already hosts four established events.
Expressions of interest close at 10:00am on December 1 and can be submitted through the Bathurst Regional Council website.
