Autobiography brings African independence activist Andrée Blouin back into view

Andrée Blouin was an activist from the Central African Republic who supported independence movements across Africa.

Her memoir describes her work with Patrice Lumumba and her hopes for a united continent.

It also tells of racism, family hardship and the challenges she faced as a woman.

The book brings attention to a figure whose political importance has often been overlooked.
