Sacha Baron Cohen to star in Tarantino’s West End play

Sacha Baron Cohen will star in The Popinjay Cavalier, Quentin Tarantino’s first stage play.

The production will be staged at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End.

Previews are scheduled to begin on February 23, 2027, and opening night is set for March 18.

The play is a comedy of deception and disguise set in 1830s Europe.

It draws on old swashbuckling stories from stage and screen.

Tarantino wrote and will direct the production, while Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sonia Friedman Productions are co-producing it.

The role marks Baron Cohen’s West End debut, and the play marks Tarantino’s West End debut as a director.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on October 12, with priority access from 9 a.m.
