42 suspects arrested after deadly shooting and attack on police in Overasselt

A group of armed men moved through Overasselt before a security guard was shot dead in his car.

When police arrived, officers were fired at more than 40 times, and several were wounded.

Authorities have arrested 42 suspects, including a 16-year-old.

Some suspects say they were recruited for what they thought was a paid job but did not know what it involved.

The case shows how a deadly attack can also put responding emergency workers at risk.
