Pix passes 1 billion registered payment keys in Brazil

Pix is Brazil’s instant payment system.

A registered key, such as a phone number or a randomly generated code, helps people receive payments.

More than 1 billion keys are now registered, while about 170 million people use Pix.

People can still use Pix without a registered key, so the number of keys is not the number of users.
