Netanyahu ally apologizes after insulting Bibas family over criticism of PM

Yinon Magal, a media ally of Israel’s prime minister, apologized after insulting families who criticized Benjamin Netanyahu.

He said his comments were not meant to hurt them, but Shiri Bibas’s sister-in-law said nothing had been taken out of context.

Israel’s commercial media regulator has started proceedings against Magal over his remarks.

The dispute highlights tensions between the government and families of people abducted or killed in the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack.
