Gut bacteria may influence fever after vaccination, study suggests

Researchers studied young adults who received COVID-19 vaccines in 2021.

Those who developed a fever had more of some gut bacteria with tiny tails that help them move.

Some food additives may encourage these bacteria, but the study does not show that changing what you eat will prevent a fever.

More research is needed to learn whether the bacteria also affect how well vaccines work.
