South Jeolla-Gwangju to use one title for civil servants below grade 6

The newly integrated South Jeolla-Gwangju city will use “jumugwan” as the title for civil servants at grade 6 or below.

The former Gwangju and South Jeolla regions used different titles for these staff.

The mayor said the change was based on unanimous agreement among employees.

One shared title is part of bringing the integrated city’s offices together.
