LH plans 20,528 affordable rental homes across Seoul over three years
South Korea’s Korea Land and Housing Corp., known as LH, plans to recruit tenants for 20,528 rental homes across Seoul’s 25 districts over the next three years.
The homes will be offered below market rates, with 14,558 intended for young people and 3,398 for newlyweds.
LH buys newly built or existing homes and provides them as public housing.
Dongdaemun District is set to receive the most homes, with 1,920, followed by Guro with 1,900.
The plan is part of efforts to provide housing for people who need it, and LH says these homes can be occupied within one to two years of construction starting.
LH says it plans to begin construction this year on 40,000 homes across the greater Seoul region, including at least 10,000 in Seoul.
It expects residents to begin moving into those homes from late next year.
