Delhi Metro reopens all stations after restrictions linked to CJP protest

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has reopened entry and exit gates at all metro stations after security restrictions linked to a protest in Delhi.

Transfers between metro lines at affected stations are also available again.

The restrictions covered 45 stations and began on Friday night ahead of a demonstration organised by the Cockroach Janta Party.

The party called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over alleged problems with electoral rolls.

Police and security agencies put measures in place around the protest, and some Delhi-bound trains were suspended.

DMRC said metro services would run on their normal schedule, while Indian Railways said its train services would return to normal from midnight on October 11.

The CJP said it planned to resume its march at Jantar Mantar the next day.
