Two Suspects Arrested After Woman Found Dead in East Jakarta Boarding House
A woman identified by the initials KDA was found dead in a boarding-house bathroom in Pinang Ranti, East Jakarta.
Her hands and feet were tied with plastic cord, a T-shirt was tied around her neck, and she had bruising on her face.
The body was discovered after a nearby resident reported a bad smell from the room.
The room had been rented by a man who, according to police, had not visited after receiving the keys.
Police arrested two men, identified as KDO, 22, and ATW, 27, in East Jakarta and Bekasi.
Investigators said they used information from the scene and digital data to identify the suspects, and suggested the killing may have been motivated by money because cash and the victim’s phone were taken.
Both men have been named as suspects and detained, and police have charged them under Indonesia’s criminal code.
