Reports say Saudi jets struck Sanaa airport after deadly Riyadh attack
Houthi media said Saudi fighter jets attacked the airport in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, on Sunday.
Saudi Arabia had not confirmed the attack, and there were no initial details about casualties or damage.
The reported strike followed an attack at King Khalid airport in Riyadh that Saudi Arabia blamed on the Houthis; at least 12 people were killed and more than 300 injured.
The Houthis control Sanaa and large areas of northern Yemen, and have held territory there for about a decade.
Saudi airstrikes at Sanaa airport in July had renewed the conflict, and attacks and fighting between the sides have since increased.
Yemen’s government forces also said they carried out eight airstrikes near Taiz, in southwest Yemen.
An explosion was heard in central Riyadh, but its cause was not known.
