Saudi Arabia signs energy cooperation pacts with Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt

Saudi Arabia has signed three memorandums of understanding with Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt to expand cooperation on energy.

Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman signed them in Riyadh with ministers from the three countries.

The Kuwait agreement focuses on electricity and renewable energy, including power links, electricity exports, energy storage and smart grids.

The Qatar agreement covers oil, gas, refining, petrochemicals, clean hydrogen and renewable energy, and includes exploring possible oil and gas pipeline projects.

The Egypt agreement covers trade, transport, storage and distribution of oil and gas, along with related infrastructure and logistics.

It also provides for exchanging expertise and developing cooperation and investment in petrochemicals.

The agreements aim to strengthen energy links, supply chains and energy security, but they set cooperation frameworks rather than announcing specific projects.
