Renovated Onomichi waterfront warehouses draw cyclists and tourists

ONOMICHI U2 turned old waterfront warehouses into a place with shops, food and a hotel for cyclists.

It is beside the Setouchi-Shimanami Kaido, a cycling route linking Onomichi and Imabari.

About 200,000 people visit each year, and many hotel guests come from overseas.

The project brings visitors to Onomichi while keeping its historic buildings in use.
