Turkey’s interior minister speaks at Kaman walnut festival

Turkey’s Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi spoke at the 35th Kaman Walnut, Culture and Arts Festival in Kaman, a district in Kırşehir province.

He praised growers for the years of work and patience needed to produce Kaman walnuts.

The walnuts have a geographical indication, and Çiftçi said protecting their quality and reputation for future generations is a shared responsibility.

He also said the festival helps producers promote their goods, supports local businesses and introduces Kaman to more people.

Çiftçi previously served as Kaman’s district governor for four years.

He said the Interior Ministry works to help people feel safe at home, at work and on farms, and that it will continue those efforts.

His remarks linked public safety with people being able to work, support their families and plan for the future.
