South Korean president marks 100th anniversary of Hangeul Day
Hangeul is the Korean writing system, created in the 15th century.
Hangeul Day was first established in 1926 to help preserve Korean language and writing.
President Lee said Hangeul is an important part of the country’s identity.
He also noted that Korean is taught in 89 countries through King Sejong Institutes.
