Naruto franchise announces new manga and Ninku crossover anime
The Naruto franchise announced a new manga and an animated crossover at New York Comic-Con.
The manga, called Shadow Rising, will be written and drawn by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto and is due in 2027.
Its teaser shows Naruto near the time he becomes Hokage, alongside Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi, facing an unknown threat.
The anime will bring Naruto together with Ninku, another shonen series.
In the story, Team 7 is sent on a mission, transported to another world and meets Ninku character Fusuke.
Kishimoto and Ninku creator Koji Kiriyama are supervising the anime, which will be animated by Pierrot.
The anime has no release window yet; the franchise’s live-action film was also discussed, but no further details were given.
