First Visakhapatnam Comic Con draws more than 12,000 visitors
Visakhapatnam hosted its first Comic Con at the Kalam Convention Centre on the AMTZ campus.
The two-day event brought together fans of comics, anime, gaming and cosplay, and organisers said more than 12,000 people attended.
Activities included artist and creator spaces, virtual reality zones, live music and stand-up comedy.
Cosplayers dressed as characters including Spider-Man, HUNK from “Resident Evil” and John Constantine.
Organisers said they chose Visakhapatnam after people from Andhra Pradesh asked them to bring the event to the state.
Comic Con India’s CEO said the turnout encouraged the company to plan a presence in Andhra Pradesh over the next five years.
The event also featured local artistes, and visitors said they wanted more events like it in the city.

Johnson said the response was encouraging enough for the company to start planning a presence in Andhra Pradesh over the next five years.
