Wenzhou valve and pump firms seek new export markets
Wenzhou, a city in China’s Zhejiang province, held an international pump and valve trade fair from October 9 to 11.
Nearly 600 companies took part, meeting industry groups and professional buyers from more than 50 countries and regions.
Pump and valve manufacturing is an established local industry, with Yongjia and Longwan known for their related industrial clusters.
Some Wenzhou firms are moving into specialized products, including small, high-performance valves for cooling AI computing centers and valves designed for highly corrosive conditions.
In the first half of this year, Wenzhou’s exports of electrical and mechanical products reached 79.8 billion yuan, up 14.2% from a year earlier; Yongjia’s pump and valve exports exceeded 1.6 billion yuan.
Businesses and officials say they want to expand beyond goods trade into technical exchanges and joint industrial projects, including possible production facilities in China or Belarus.
Wenzhou’s trade council says it plans to promote regular exchanges with trade partners, including a proposed Wenzhou–Belarus economic and trade week.
