Analyst warns North Korea could overwhelm U.S. missile defenses
North Korea has developed more nuclear weapons and missiles since its first nuclear test 20 years ago.
Former U.S. intelligence analyst Bruce Klingner says the arsenal could exceed the capacity of U.S. missile defenses and put allied defenses under pressure.
The exact size of North Korea’s arsenal is uncertain, though one research institute estimated it may have up to 60 warheads at the start of 2026.
Klingner also warns that a deal with North Korea could leave the threat largely unchanged.
