iOS 27 Shared Albums can keep new photos and videos at full resolution

•

iOS 27 lets upgraded Shared Albums store newly added photos and videos in their original formats at full resolution.

•

Before iOS 27, Shared Albums generally limited photos to 2,048 pixels on the long edge and videos to up to 720p.

•

Existing Shared Albums can be upgraded for future additions, while new albums created in iOS 27 use the upgraded experience automatically.

•

New items added to an upgraded album count toward the owner’s available iCloud storage, including items added by other participants.

•

Items already in an album before its upgrade and temporary Shared Albums do not count toward that storage.
