Apple is expected to unveil new smart-home products
Apple is expected to unveil new smart-home products at an event today.
The plans include a home hub with a screen, which could combine features of a HomePod speaker and an iPad.
It is expected to show personal information and let people control devices using Siri.
The products depend on an updated version of Siri, which arrived last month after delays.
Apple has previously tried to build a smart-home business with HomePod speakers and tools for Siri to control other devices.
These launches would mark a broader push into devices made specifically for the smart home.
A new HomePod Mini and an updated Apple TV are also expected, with changes focused on supporting the newer Siri.
The event is expected to reveal what Apple will launch, though the company’s exact plans are not yet clear.
Apple is expected to announce new smart-home products at an event on October 13, 2026.
The expected launches include a home hub with a display and a new version of the HomePod Mini.
The display is expected to show personal information and let users control devices through Siri.
Reports suggest the products have been waiting for an updated version of Siri, which arrived last month.
Apple has previously offered HomePod speakers and software for controlling other products, but the launches would include its first purpose-built smart-home devices.
