Google staff test a Gemini 4 model they say is strong at coding

Google is preparing to release a new AI model called Argon.

Employees are also testing Carbon, an internal version of Gemini 4 that some say performs well at coding.

Their early impressions are not a full test, and Google may not release Carbon.

The testing shows Google is trying to catch up in AI tools for complex coding work.
