Four states sue TP-Link over claims about its China ties and router safety

Four states have sued router maker TP-Link over what they say are misleading claims about its links to China and the safety of its products.

TP-Link says the lawsuits are based on false premises and that its US-sold devices are made in Vietnam.

The FCC has barred sales of most routers made outside the United States, and TP-Link has not received an exemption.

The lawsuits add to the company’s challenges as it seeks approval for new products in the US.
