John Gore Studios Acquires Rights to Susan Hill’s Complete Works

John Gore Studios, which owns British film company Hammer Films, has acquired rights to the complete body of work by author Susan Hill.

Her best-known work is the 1983 ghost story “The Woman in Black.”

It became a stage production that ran in London’s West End for 33 years and a 2012 Hammer film starring Daniel Radcliffe.

That film earned $127.7 million and was the highest-grossing British horror film in 20 years, according to the story.

Hill has also written crime, literary and children’s books, as well as memoir and radio drama.

The studio plans to explore adaptations of her work for film and television, and theater where existing rights allow.

Hill will remain involved in new projects and will be an executive producer on them.
