World Ancient Capitals Forum explores heritage protection and urban renewal

Historic cities need to protect their heritage while meeting the needs of people today.

At a forum in Luoyang, representatives from 12 countries and regions discussed how to balance those goals.

Luoyang has used archaeology and site-specific plans as it develops the city.

The discussion matters because other cities are also looking for ways to preserve historic places while improving urban life.
