Granarolo secures €450 million loan tied to sustainability targets

Granarolo, an Italian dairy group based in Bologna, has secured a €450 million loan from 10 lenders.

The money will support its strategic plan through two term loans and a flexible credit line.

The loan is tied to environmental, social and governance targets, with favorable terms if Granarolo meets them.

The company has not disclosed the specific targets or the size of any benefits.

Its stated priorities include improving plant efficiency, using clean energy and recovering water.

Granarolo says more than 41% of its revenue comes from international markets, and it operates plants in several countries beyond Italy.

The funding is intended to help it strengthen its operations and continue its international growth while improving its environmental performance.
