ApritiModa will open 100 Italian fashion and craft sites to the public

ApritiModa will open 100 fashion houses, ateliers, factories and craft workshops to the public across Italy on 24 and 25 October.

The event is marking its 10th year.

It began in Milan in 2017, when 14 businesses opened their doors to visitors.

This year’s locations range from Friuli to Sicily and include major fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana, as well as small specialist workshops.

Visitors can also see costume and tailoring workshops at theatres including La Scala in Milan and La Fenice in Venice.

Many of the sites are usually closed to the public, even though Italian makers produce high-end goods for brands from Italy and abroad.

The event aims to show how Italian fashion and craftsmanship are made and to highlight their contribution to the country’s identity and economy.
