Italian door-to-door sellers value flexible hours, survey finds

Door-to-door sales in Italy employs about 100,000 people, and nearly three quarters do it to supplement other income.

About 90% are women, and 78% use digital tools regularly to support their work.

In a survey of about 8,500 workers, nine in ten said work-life balance and control over their time were important.

The findings suggest flexibility is a major reason people choose the job.

Direct contact also remains central: nearly 94% said they often build trusting relationships with customers.

More than 70% have worked in the sector for at least four years, and 63.1% were satisfied with their earnings.

The survey also found that 91% were satisfied with the work overall, while nearly 61% would recommend it to others.
