Samsung’s 2022 Galaxy Watch 5 still gets updates in 2026

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, both from 2022, are the oldest devices listed as still receiving software updates in 2026.

They are due to get Wear OS updates through December 2026.

Support for Samsung phones depends on their range: flagship models get up to seven years, mid-range models about five to six years, and budget models up to four years.

For example, the Galaxy S23 series is due to get Android updates until February 2027, while the Galaxy A15 is due to get them until December 2027.

Some older models have already lost support, including the Galaxy S22 line and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.

Updates can bring new features, while security patches help protect devices from threats.

Samsung provides a security update list, and users can check their phone’s update status in Settings.
