Drone sprays wood-vinegar bear repellent in test in northeastern Japan

The repellent is made with wood vinegar, which has a smell bears avoid, plus water and chili-pepper extract.

A drone is spraying it along more than 300 meters near an orchard where bears were seen last year.

The test will show whether spraying from the air can help keep bears away from places where people live and study.

Bears have also caused crop damage and injuries in the area.
