BSI launches recovery programme for Lombok’s Sade village after fire
Sade is a Sasak cultural tourism village in Lombok, Indonesia.
A fire disrupted local tourism and affected residents’ livelihoods.
Bank Syariah Indonesia, working with Danantara Indonesia, has launched a programme to help the village recover.
It includes rebuilding four traditional houses, the village entrance gate, a meeting hall and a place of worship.
The aim is to help local weavers, small businesses and homestay operators earn a living from tourism again.
BSI says the recovery should support residents while helping preserve Sasak culture.
The public can donate through BSI’s BYOND app, and the programme is intended to help Sade welcome visitors again.
