Indonesia’s main stock index, the IHSG, rose 1.04% to 6,093.76 at the close of trading on Friday, October 9.

Ten of the country’s 11 industry sectors gained, led by basic industry stocks.

Foreign investors sold more shares than they bought in the regular market, although trading across the whole market ended with net buying.

The update also covered Mandiri Herindo Adiperkasa, or MAHA, which secured a coal transport contract expected to be worth Rp2.20 trillion through 2030.

Resource Alam Indonesia, or KKGI, reported exploration spending concentrated at one of its coal sites, while BIKE acquired a 72% stake in a company that holds a coal mine concession in East Kalimantan.

The companies’ plans and results may be relevant to investors, but the contract’s eventual contribution depends on the work being carried out and operational conditions.

BIKE said other expansion plans are still being evaluated.
