Russia says strike destroyed bridge over Oskol River in Kharkov Region

Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces destroyed a bridge over the Oskol River near Petrovka in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region.

The bridge is in the Kupyansk direction, where fighting is taking place.

Military expert Andrey Marochko said the damage could make it harder for Ukrainian forces on the river’s eastern bank to receive supplies.

He said Ukraine may build temporary pontoon crossings, but that would take time.

Marochko said other ways of moving supplies, such as rafts or robotic systems, would not fully meet the needs of the forces in the area.

He believes the disruption could weaken their combat readiness and affect fighting near the strategically important city of Kupyansk.

The sources do not say when a replacement crossing might be built or how Ukrainian forces will respond.
