M5S senator joins Senate mixed group amid election-signature dispute
Senator Luigi Nave left the M5S group and joined a component in the Senate’s mixed group.
The move is described as a step toward creating a component linked to the New PSI and Progetto civico Italia.
That could let a centrist list collect 1,500 signatures instead of 6,000 in each constituency to run in elections.
M5S says Nave remains part of the party and made the move to challenge a law it says limits public participation.
