India’s Tea Board plans more auction centres to improve prices for producers
The Tea Board wants more buyers to compete for tea at auctions.
It has opened centres in Dibrugarh and Jorhat, and plans to open one in Agartala by the end of October.
It is also trying to reopen the Jalpaiguri centre and surveying in Arunachal Pradesh.
More competition could help tea producers get better prices.
