Mudslide in Santiago sweeps away vehicles after record October rain
A torrent of water, mud and rocks swept through part of eastern Santiago after a week of record rain.
It carried away cars and a bus, and six people were injured.
More than 1,000 people were rescued or helped, and around 2,000 homes had some damage.
The disaster zone declaration allows authorities to focus on responding to the damage.
