Remi Wolf’s New Album ‘Mud’ Reflects Touring Burnout and Healing
Remi Wolf has released Mud, her third studio album, following 2024’s Big Ideas.
She began writing it in late 2024 after years of touring left her stressed and burned out, while she was also going through a breakup.
The album moves closer to folk music than her first two records, with songs shaped to work around a campfire on acoustic guitar.
Wolf first developed that approach while writing in Nashville, then went to Big Bear, California, with close friends and longtime collaborator Jared Solomon.
The group wrote 16 songs in a week, and Wolf says making music with people she trusted helped her feel vulnerable and heal.
She describes Mud as her saddest album, but also the most fun one she has made.
The album was released on Friday via Island Records.
