Street Fighter film uses 2D animation for flashbacks

The upcoming Street Fighter movie is a modern, effects-driven film.

Its flashbacks are 2D animated as a nod to the game’s early era.

The choice connects the film to the franchise’s history.

Street Fighter opens in theaters October 16.
