Antonelli moves within reach of F1 title after third in Singapore

Kimi Antonelli finished third at the Singapore Grand Prix, while Max Verstappen won the race.

Antonelli, a Mercedes driver, leads his teammate George Russell by 102 points and Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton by 111.

With six rounds scheduled, Antonelli could become Formula One’s youngest world champion at 20.

He can secure the title at the next race in Austin if he wins and Russell finishes ninth or lower, while Hamilton finishes fifth or lower.

Antonelli said the championship feels close but that he must keep performing well.

The Texas race is due in two weeks, though the schedule could be affected by conflict in the Middle East.
