Chinese fitness influencer disqualified from Berlin Marathon for cycling
Chinese fitness influencer Yuanyuan Sun, who is known online as Abeeeer, has been disqualified from the Berlin Marathon.
The race took place in Germany in September.
Investigators found that she rode on a bicycle during part of the course.
They compared official timing-chip data with photographs and found an unusually fast section near the end of her race.
Sun apologized on a Chinese social media platform and said she had broken the rules and tried to hide what happened in photos.
Brooks China, the sportswear brand that sponsored her, ended its deal with her.
